Nova Scotia Offshore: New Agreement Signed to Improve Regulatory Process

HALIFAX - On Friday, February 18, the governments of Canada and Nova Scotia will sign a memorandum of understanding to signal a new approach and new opportunities for Nova Scotia's offshore industry to create a more coordinated, integrated and effective regulatory approval and environmental protection process for offshore petroleum development projects in the province. Government of Canada ministers in attendance will include the Honourable R. John Efford, Minister of Natural Resources Canada; and the Honourable Geoff Regan, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. Nova Scotia will be represented by the Honourable Cecil P. Clarke, Minister of Energy, Government of Nova Scotia. The signing will be preceded by a technical briefing.
