TORONTO, March 18, 2005 -- Canada Post commemorated TD Bank Financial Group's 150th anniversary today with a stamp honouring the Bank's significant contribution to Canada's financial landscape, Canadians and their communities. The 50 cents stamp was unveiled this morning at a special ceremony in Toronto, before several hundred TD Bank employees and community groups the bank supports. Founded before Confederation to serve the banking needs of grain millers and merchants, TD Bank Financial Group (TDBFG) has grown into a global financial services company, helping generations of Canadians achieve their financial goals. The company has also established a solid philanthropic legacy as one of Canada's leading corporate contributors to charity. In 2004, TDBFG donated $24.7 million to over 1,000 Canadian charities with a focus on children's health, education and literacy and the environment.
