THE VILLAGE OF ROGERSVILLE WILL HAVE AN INDUSTRIAL ZONE

March, 23 2005 - Rogersville, New Brunswick -- The Village of Rogersville will have an industrial zone for light and medium industries. The project involves the construction of a street, and related facilities to accommodate future business expansion. The project is being made possible by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency's (ACOA) investment of $106,673 through its Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF). The Village of Rogersville has committed a further $60,190. "This new infrastructure is an important step in the development of the Village of Rogersville," said Charles Hubbard, on behalf of the Honourable Joseph McGuire, Minister of ACOA. "The Government of Canada is proud to invest in the development of the infrastructure necessary to encourage the growth of our companies, which will ultimately lead to the continued prosperity of our communities." "The Village of Rogersville is delighted to receive this investment from ACOA to help us make this project a reality," said Mayor Bertrand LeBlanc. "Because of this project, new companies will be establishing themselves in this industrial area, and it will mean jobs for the community. The financial support of ACOA as a partner in this project is greatly appreciated." This project will provide the infrastructure for industrial development, and is part of a global plan that will orient the municipality towards a sustainable development plan. The industrial zone will help ensure the development of a thriving industrial base for the benefit of the community, which is consistent with the strategic directions and economic policies of the Government of Canada. SCIF was created to support strategic initiatives that contribute to community economic development in Atlantic Canada. Its purpose is to help communities create opportunities for economic development that will attract investments and stimulate employment. SCIF is a component of the Atlantic Investment Partnership (AIP).
