Military Funeral for Brigadier-General Marc Pouliot, MSM, CD

NR-05.028 - April 6, 2005 OTTAWA -- Brigadier-General Marc Pouliot, who died suddenly on April 1 at National Defence Headquarters, will be buried with full military honours on Friday, April 8. Brig.-Gen. Pouliot was 49 years old, and had just been appointed to the post of Director General Logistics / J4 Materiel at NDHQ. Respected by all, Brig.-Gen. Pouliot had served with the Canadian Forces since 1972. Deployed overseas several times, he received the Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General for his contribution in 2003 as commandant of the Theatre Activation Team that prepared for the deployment of 2,000 soldiers to Kabul, Afghanistan. The funeral of Brig.-Gen. Pouliot will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 8, at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa. The service will be followed at 1:30 p.m. by interment at the National Military Cemetery, where an 11-gun salute will be fired in his honour. Brig.-Gen.
