May 18, 2005 OTTAWA – Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, will visit Queen Victoria Public School (46 Pine Street, Belleville, Ontario), on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. and will make brief remarks on the importance of literacy and respect for others. Queen Victoria Public School was opened in 1912. It is the oldest operating school in Belleville, welcoming approximately 350 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 6. The school is implementing the Together We Light the Way Respect Program to assist students in developing respect, appreciation and understanding of the uniqueness that they and others bring to their school and their communities through their individual strengths, cultures and experiences.
