May 10, 2005 No. 81 International Trade Minister Jim Peterson today announced the appointments of Martine Corriveau-Gougeon of St. Bruno, Quebec, and Norman Turnbull of Montreal, Quebec, to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC). “Ms. Corriveau-Gougeon has had a dynamic career in the private sector, in which she has negotiated both domestic and international alliances,” said Minister Peterson. “I am sure that she will make a significant contribution to the continued success of the CCC.” During a 30-year career in the telecommunications industry with Bell Canada, Silonex and Télébec, Ms. Corriveau-Gougeon concluded international manufacturing agreements, launched new competitive ventures and introduced Internet business solutions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in electrical engineering from McGill University. “Mr. Turnbull’s wealth of business knowledge will be a considerable asset to the CCC Board of Directors,” said Minister Peterson. “I am confident that he will be able to bring new ideas to the table.” After a career of more than 30 years in corporate finance, Mr. Turnbull is currently a consultant. He has extensive experience in finance and control, strategic planning, business and corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions. He is a graduate of the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (University of Montreal). The CCC is an export contracting agency that brings buyers and Canadian exporters together. Since its inception in 1946, the CCC has provided assistance to thousands of companies from across Canada, helping them negotiate more than $30 billion in contracts with foreign governments and private sector buyers.
