CALGARY - On Wednesday, July 27, Senator Dan Hays will
represent Canada at the closing ceremony of the North American Solar Challenge
2005. Senator Hays, who will speak on behalf of the Honourable R. John Efford,
Minister of Natural Resources Canada
(NRCan), will be joined by other Canadian and U.S. government and
industry representatives as well as university team members.
The solar vehicle race, co-sponsored by NRCan, began on July 17 in Austin,
Texas, and will end on Wednesday, July 27 in Calgary, Alberta. Five Canadian
university teams, also sponsored by NRCan, have been competing in the
race.
