Notice to Media - Update on Airbus A340 Accident

GATINEAU, QC, Aug. 8, 2005 -- The Transportation Safety Board of
Canada's Investigator in Charge, Réal Levasseur, will hold an investigation
update on August 8 at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on the Air France
Airbus accident of August 2, 2005, at the Lester B. Pearson International
Airport in Toronto, Canada.
The press conference will be held at:

Lester B. Pearson International Airport
2935 Convair Drive (Hwy. 401 and Renfort)
Toronto, Ontario
Representatives from the media who cannot attend the press conference
will be able to listen in by calling: (416) 776-4420. Callers are asked to

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline,
railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the
advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to
assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
