OTTAWA – September 16, 2005 – The federal review panel plans to visit the area of study of the Eastmain-1-A and Rupert diversion project on September 26 through 29. The panel will file a videotape summarizing its visit in the public registry.
This visit was planned on July 18 through 22, but had to be cancelled due to an intense forest fire.
Additional information on this project is available on the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency's Internet site and on the site of the Office of Public Information.
The federal review panel for the Eastmain-1-A and Rupert diversion project is an independent body responsible for assessing the environmental effects of the project, at the request of the Minister for the Environment.
