FCAC to unveil new credit card web tool this Wednesday

OTTAWA, November 14, 2005 -- The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada
(FCAC) wishes to invite media to a demonstration of a new online interactive
tool for consumers, on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at 10 a.m.
The new Web tool, a first in Canada, will allow consumers to quickly and
easily find credit cards that suit their needs and preferences, and to
generate detailed comparisons of the credit cards' features.
The demonstration will take place at the FCAC offices, located at
427 Laurier Avenue West, 6th Floor, in Ottawa. A spokesperson will be
available for interviews immediately following the demonstration.
FCAC provides consumers with accurate and objective information about
financial products and services, and informs Canadians of their rights when
dealing with financial institutions. FCAC also ensures compliance with the
consumer protection laws that apply to banks and federally incorporated trust,
loan and insurance companies.
