EDMONTON, November 10, 2005 -- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Member of Parliament (Edmonton Centre) Anne McLellan, on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Minister responsible for Status of Women Liza Frulla, today announced more than $2.9 million in funding for 38 Francophone organizations in Alberta. The funds will enable these associations and groups to continue serving the Francophone community in Alberta."The diverse range of projects that will become reality because of this funding will enable Francophone communities to continue to flourish in their language, while helping promote French throughout the province," said Minister McLellan."I am pleased that we are addressing the most pressing needs of Francophone communities in Alberta," said Minister Frulla.
