ST-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, Quebec - Private Dalton Sarrazin, who
collapsed March 2 at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruits School (CFLRS)
in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, has died in hospital in Montréal.
Private Sarrazin, who suffered chest pain during routine physical fitness training,
passed away early this morning at Montréal's hôpital Notre Dame.
His parents, Master Warrant Officer Gerry Sarrazin, of 405 Squadron, 14 Wing
Greenwood, and Arlene Sarrazin, along with Dalton's brothers, Roger Sarrazin
and Private Jason Sarrazin, of 417 Combat Support Squadron, 4 Wing, Cold Lake,
Alta., arrived in Montréal last week to be with him.
Private Sarrazin, 18, was on his basic training course at CFLRS.
As with all deaths involving Canadian Forces members, an investigation of the
circumstances of Private Sarrazin's death has been launched.
