Completion of Construction and Rehabilitation Work on the Library of Parliament Building

For immediate release
The Honourable Michael M Fortier, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, and the Honourable Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons, will be taking part in a ceremony marking the end of the construction and rehabilitation work on the Library of Parliament.
Date: Tuesday, May 30, 2006
Time: 9:15 a.m.
Location: Hall of Honour, Centre Block
Media representatives will have a choice of two positions—inside the Library (camera only) or in the Hall of Honour—with no possibility of moving before the end of the ceremony.
Media representatives interested in the position inside the Library are asked to contact the Media Relations Unit at (819) 956-2315 no later than May 29.
The schedule for the media is as follows:
8:45 a.m. at the latest Cameras arrive for set-up inside Library
9:00 a.m. Sound and lighting checks
9:15 a.m. Speech
9:30 a.m. Ceremony ends
