HEALTH HAZARD ALERT - Pieces of hard plastic in CARAMEL FILLED SMALL (8.5 g) CHOCOLATE EGGS made by CADBURY ADAMS CANADA INC.

News Release

OTTAWA, May 5, 2006 -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Cadbury
Adams Canada Inc. are warning the public not
to consume the small (8.5 g) caramel filled
chocolate eggs individually wrapped in Caramilk labelled foil and in unlabelled
purple foil, described below because they may contain pieces of hard
plastic.
These small (8.5 g) caramel filled chocolate eggs
were manufactured by Cadbury Adams Canada Inc. The individual small (8.5 g) caramel filled eggs are wrapped in a foil and sold in
packages of various sizes, formats and also in bulk. The affected products may
also have been packaged and sold under different names.
The following products contain the affected small (8.5 g) caramel filled chocolate eggs which are individually wrapped
in labelled orange and brown foil:

chocolate eggs do not have a UPC code on the individual eggs.
Consumers who may have purchased small (8.5 g)
caramel filled chocolate eggs, and are not sure of the manufacturer, should
inquire at the place of purchase to verify if the store received the affected
product.
These affected products have been distributed nationally.
Consumption of these products may result in an injury. There has been no
injury associated with the consumption of these products.
The manufacturer, Cadbury Adams Canada Inc., Toronto, Ontario is voluntarily recalling the
affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the
effectiveness of the recall.
