The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, will highlight the
delivery of significant tax relief for Canada's small and medium-sized
wine producers at the Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery, 5600 King Street
West, Beamsville, Ontario, on Wednesday, June 28 at 2:15 p.m.
The Budget 2006 measure, which comes into force on Saturday, July 1,
strengthens the competitiveness of small and medium-sized vintners and
brewers by removing the federal excise tax on their products.
Minister Flaherty will be joined for the event by representatives of
the Canadian Vintners Association and the Wine Council of Ontario.
