OTTAWA —The remains of Corporal Francisco Gomez of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Edmonton, and Corporal Jason Patrick Warren of The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada based in Montreal are scheduled to return home to Canada this Thursday evening.

As per the request of the families, media are invited to view the arrival, though no interviews will be given.
Present to pay their respects will be: Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, The Governor General of Canada; The Minister of National Defence, Gordon O’Connor; Chief of the Defence Staff, General Rick Hillier; Chief of the Land Staff, LGen Andrew Leslie, Canadian Expeditionary Force Commander, LGen Michel Gauthier; Director General Land Reserve, BGen Dennis Tabbernor, Commander of Land Force Quebec Area, BGen Christian Barabé, the Commander of Land Force Central Area, BGen Guy Thibault, and Deputy-Commander of Land Force Quebec Area, BGen Marc-André Préfontaine.
Corporals Gomez and Warren were killed in a suicide vehicle attack that occurred at on July 22, 2006, five kilometres west of Kandahar City, Afghanistan.
