Inauguration of the Canada Pavilion at Expo Québec

QUEBEC, QUEBEC – August 16, 2006 − The Honourable Michael M Fortier, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, today inaugurated the Canada Pavilion at Expo Québec, which is taking place from August 16 to 27, 2006.
“The Canada Pavilion gives Canadians the opportunity to learn more about the Government of Canada priorities and the many programs and services available to them,” said Minister Fortier. “Its unique concept of a one-stop shop allows visitors to meet representatives of the many departments and agencies, all under one corporate umbrella”.
Visitors of all ages are invited to participate in fun and interactive activities. Come test your knowledge with the ever-popular Great Canadian Challenge or with the quiz on Canadian athletes. Among other things, you will also find out how safe a lightweight car can be.
The Government of Canada’s participation at Expo Québec is part of the Canada Pavilion’s coast to coast tour with stops in 10 Canadian cities between June 2006 and March 2007.
