Minister Verner to Hold a Teleconference Call from Mali

Ottawa — The Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of International Cooperation and Minister for La Francophonie and Official Languages, will hold a teleconference with media as part of her three-day mission to Mali. The Minister will outline future initiatives that will contribute to the country's development.
While in Mali, Minister Verner has met with President Amadou Toomani Touré, and will be meeting with Prime Minister Ousmane Issoufi Maiga and other several government ministers and senior officials. She has visited a number of projects funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), including a stopover in the village of Sanankoroba, which is twinned with Ste-Elizabeth, Québec. The two villages developed their relationship through a municipality-partnering project funded by CIDA.
