OTTAWA, Ont. — The remains of Cpl David Braun, a 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry soldier, based at Canadian Forces Base Shilo, is scheduled to return home to Canada tomorrow.
Where: 8 Wing Trenton, Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario.
When: Saturday, August 26, 5 p.m. EDT.
What: As per the family’s request, media are invited to view the arrival, although no interviews will be given.
Present to pay their respects will be The Minister of National Defence, Gordon O’Connor, and other dignitaries.
Cpl David Braun was killed in a vehicle attack when the re-supply convoy he was travelling in in Kandahar City was struck by a suicide bomber. Three others soldiers were wounded in this incident, which took place Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at approximately 3:15 p.m. Kandahar time.
