APPOINTMENT TO THE ROYAL CANADIAN MINT
OTTAWA The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport,
Infrastructure and Communities, and Minister responsible for the Royal Canadian
Mint, today announced the appointment of Susan Dujmovic to the board of
directors of the Royal Canadian Mint.
"Ms. Dujmovic has been involved in commercial banking for her entire career,"
said Minister Cannon. "Her knowledge and experience will complement that of the
current board of directors of this Crown corporation."
Ms. Dujmovic holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of British
Columbia. She completed the Canadian Securities Course and Investment Funds in
Canada courses in 1993. She also obtained a Fellowship of Institute of Canadian
Bankers in 2006. Ms. Dujmovic currently serves as assistant vice-president,
commercial financial services, of HSBC bank. From January 2003 until January
2006, she was assistant vice-president, sales management, B.C. region of HSBC,
and prior to that, from April 2000 to 2003, she was assistant vice-president and
branch manager at the White Rock and Ocean Park branches of HSBC. Ms. Dujmovic
has been a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade since 2003 and a board member
of the Coast Foundation Society from 2000 to 2004. She has been appointed to the
board of directors of the Royal Canadian Mint until September 8, 2008.
The Royal Canadian Mint is a commercial Crown corporation responsible for the
production and distribution of all of Canada's circulation coins. It also
produces foreign circulation, numismatic and bullion coins for domestic and
international consumers. The Mint's Ottawa and Winnipeg production facilities
are among the largest and most advanced minting operations in the world. The
Mint employs more than 700 people in the design, production and marketing of
coins.
