Governor General to meet with the President of Afghanistan

OTTAWA-Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond will receive His Excellency Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, during his working visit to Canada on September 22, 2006. Their Excellencies will host a private dinner in his honour at Riddeau Hall.
There will be a photo opportunity for the media prior to the dinner at 7:00 p.m. Media interested in covering the event are asked to contact Lucie Brosseau.
