GATINEAU, QUEBEC, September 28, 2006 — Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise all motorists that the Gatineau bound lanes of Macdonald-Cartier Bridge will be reduced to one lane from 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2006 to 6:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2006. These lane reductions will remain in effect throughout the weekend, with one lane of traffic in the Gatineau bound direction remaining open.
The Ottawa bound lanes of the Bridge will be reduced each night from Monday, October 2, 2006 to Friday, October 6, 2006 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following morning, with one lane remaining open in the Ottawa bound direction. There will be no daytime restrictions between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The Gatineau bound lanes will be reduced again each night from Monday, October 9, 2006 to Friday, October 13, 2006 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with one lane remaining open in the Gatineau bound direction. There will be no daytime restrictions between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The schedule may change subject to weather conditions.
These lane closures are necessary to conduct concrete repairs and asphalt paving.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience these lane restrictions may cause.
