Winnipeg , Manitoba The Honourable Vic Toews, Member of Parliament for Provencher and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced the opening of five new Service Canada Outreach Sites in the province of Manitoba today, making it easier for residents to access government programs and services.
"Canadians have said they want simple and efficient service and a choice in how they access that service whether by phone, Internet or in person," Minister Toews said. "They want personalized assistance from people who can help them get the right information about the programs and services they need. Today, we're answering that call with the introduction of five new regional Service Canada Outreach Sites."
Visitors to the new Service Canada Outreach Site in Hadashville, which is open every second and fourth Friday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., can find information and get application assistance on Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security and Social Insurance Numbers, as well information on the Universal Child Care Benefit, Canada Job Bank, and the Canada Student Loans Program. Minister Toews also announced four other outreach sites in his federal riding of Provencher, including a site in Lac du Bonnet, Morris, Pine Falls and Sprague.
Through the combination of new regional Service Canada Outreach Sites, a national telephone information service, and on-line service, information on programs and services is just a call, click or visit away. Service Canada's strong regional presence and cross-country delivery network means Canadians can get information about a wide range of services, including: passports, Social Insurance Numbers, Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, seniors benefits, available jobs, career planning services, and more.
Service Canada is integrating services from a number of federal departments to form a single service delivery network. Over the next three years, Service Canada will continue to enhance and introduce more services with the goal of continuously improving service delivery and client satisfaction.

New Service Canada Outreach Service Sites in Manitoba
Service Canada representatives travel to communities on a scheduled or periodic basis to assist where there is a need. Regional scheduled outreach services are designed in consultation with individual communities to respond to their particular needs, offering information and application assistance for Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, and Old Age Security, along with information on other Government of Canada programs and services. In addition, Service Canada's mobile and outreach services give access to government service and information to Canadians living in many remote, rural and northern communities.
