CASMA 07.001 - February 13, 2007
OTTAWA – The Flight Safety Investigation Report (FSIR), dealing with the September 20, 2004 Cormorant incident involving the Search and Rescue response to the sinking of the Motor Vessel Ryan’s Commander, will be available February 13 on the Air Force Directorate of Flight Safety (DFS) web site.
The FSIR contains the final facts, findings and recommendations by DFS associated with this incident.
Flight safety investigations are ordered to determine the causes of accidents so measures can be put in place to prevent a recurrence. These preventive measures can then be applied throughout the Air Force.
