Governor General to Attend First Fundraising Gala for the Quebec Sickle Cell Association

OTTAWAHer Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will attend the first fundraising gala for the Quebec Sickle Cell Association on Friday, February 16, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in Montreal. The Governor General will deliver brief remarks during the gala.
The Quebec Sickle Cell Association is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and the quality of life of children living with sickle cell disease and that of their families. Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects red blood cells.
