Governor General to Preside Over Special Ceremony to Mark 60th Anniversary of Canadian Citizenship

OTTAWA Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will preside over a special citizenship ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of Canadian Citizenship on Friday, February 16, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in Ottawa.
The Governor General will swear in the members of eighteen families, representing each province and territory. Twenty-five young people from across Canada will also attend the ceremony to reaffirm their commitment to Canada. The Governor General will offer remarks.
