Canada's New Government Announces Float Repairs at Harbour Facility in Tobermory

TOBERMORY, ONTARIO -- Larry Miller, Member of Parliament for Bruce--Grey--Owen
Sound, announced today on behalf of the Honourable Loyola Hearn, Minister of Fisheries
and Oceans (DFO), that Canada's New Government is investing in required float repairs
at the Tobermory (Little Tub) harbour facility.
"The Tobermory facility is a very popular tourist destination and receives heavy
traffic during the boating season," said Mr. Miller. "Keeping this facility in a
safe and fully operational state is a necessity."
The repair work is currently under way and consists of the replacement of a number
of floating dock systems at the Little Tub harbour facility. The project is being
implemented by the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, which manages the site
on behalf of DFO's Small Craft Harbour's Program.
"With Bruce Peninsula National Park of Canada and The Fathom Five National Marine
Park of Canada close by, these repairs are necessary for local tourism," Miller
concluded.
