CHILLIWACK, BRITISH COLUMBIA —The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Member of Parliament for Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon, and Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, and Minister responsible for the Canadian Wheat Board, on behalf of the Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, today announced funding of more than $1.1 million for a Triangle Community Resources Inc. project that will help unemployed people in the Chilliwack area.
“Canada’s New Government is proud to support community organizations that help people find jobs,” said Minister Strahl.“ I am especially pleased that this project will give people the assistance they need to find jobs right here at home.”
Under the Employment Assistance Services Program, Triangle Community Resources Inc. will receive more than $1.1 million to fund the Chilliwack RITE/WRITE project, a six-week intensive program for both men and women.
Through this project, Triangle Community Resources Inc. will provide a series of workshops to assist clients in assessing and mapping their career direction, identifying and overcoming barriers to employment, and obtaining the skills to market themselves effectively to employers. This funding, offered through Service Canada, will be delivered over three years.
“This project is important in the community to assist unemployed individuals, especially those with multiple barriers to employment,” said Brian Chiasson, Contracts Manager/Owner of Triangle Community Resources Inc. “It is great to see that the Government of Canada recognizes the importance of continuing our efforts in the community.”
