Child Abduction Suspect Apprehended in the US, Fredericton, N.B.

2007/5/3An American man was arrested in North Carolina yesterday, May 2, on child abduction charges stemming from an incident in Salisbury NB on April 23, 2007. 36 year old Billy Ray Whisnant - the father of the 4 month old child - was visiting the girl and her mother in Salisbury for the weekend and returned to the US with her. A Canada Wide warrant was issued and US authorities arrested him yesterday. He is awaiting an extradition hearing to return to Canada to face the charges. The child is presently safe with US Authorities and arrangements are being made to return her to her mother.
