Governor General to Officially Open a New Guest House at the Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre in Ottawa

OTTAWAHer Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will officially open the new Guest House A home away from home on the grounds of Ottawa's Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre (PRVHC), 1750 Russell Road, on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. The Governor General will deliver brief remarks during the official opening ceremony.
The Guest House is a home-like, 12-bedroom bungalow that provides short and long-term respite care for persons in the early and mid-stage of dementia. The PRVHC, the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa, and Carefor Health and Community Services have partnered to develop this innovative option for respite care.
Following the Guest House Grand Opening, Her Excellency will be meeting Perley Rideau residents and their families in Lupton Hall.
