OTTAWA - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport,
Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment of Ms. Rina Mukherjee as a member of the board of directors of the Blue Water Bridge
Authority.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mukherjee to the board of
directors of the Blue Water Bridge Authority," said Minister Cannon. "Her
involvement in local environmental issues will be a welcome asset to the
authority."
Ms. Rina Mukherjee graduated with honours from the University of Toronto,
with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science. She
currently serves on the Sarnia Environmental Advisory Committee. From 1999
to 2001, she worked as a technical product support analyst for CBF Systems
Inc. in Michigan. She was previously employed as a programmer and software
quality analyst in the Windsor area. Ms. Mukherjee has been active in the
local community by chairing the board of directors of Lambton Rural
Childcare, and through her role as president of the Sarnia Newcomers Club.
Ms. Mukherjee has been appointed to the authority's board of directors for
four years.
The Blue Water Bridge Authority, which has a four-member board of
directors, is responsible for the management and operation of the Canadian
side of the Blue Water Bridge. The Michigan Department of Transportation
owns and operates the American side. The bridge, which has existed since
1938, spans the St. Clair River between Point Edward, Ontario, and Port
Huron, Michigan.
