OTTAWA, June 28, 2007 -- The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), today announced the appointment of Dr. Dennis Anderson and Ms. Eva Mah Borsato as members of the Council.
"I am pleased to welcome Dr. Anderson and Ms. Mah Borsato to the Council and know that their contributions will be helpful in guiding the success of the NRC in advancing research and development," said Minister Bernier.
Dr. Anderson, who served as President of Brandon University from 19902000, was also a Professor of Marketing with the Faculty of Management (now Asper School of Business) at the University of Manitoba. He also held the positions of Associate Dean and M.B.A. Program Director. Dr. Anderson is currently a management consultant working with organizations in Canada and abroad.
In 1985, Ms. Mah Borsato founded Envirocorp Ltd., which provided facilities design and project management services for four years until being purchased by Stantec Consulting Ltd. where she continued on as a Managing Principal for 10 years. In 2000, she co founded CardioMetabolics Inc., a privately held Canadian biotech company, where she served as President, CEO and Director until 2006. Ms. Mah Borsato is currently the President and CEO of ICCI Intellectual Capital Corporation Inc.
