Minister of National Defence, the Honourable Josée Verner, Minister
of International Cooperation and Lieutenant-General Angus Watt, Chief of the
Air Staff, will welcome the arrival of Canada’s new C-17 Globemaster
III strategic lift aircraft at the Abbotsford International Air Show in Abbotsford,
BC.

Following the public statements at approximately 12:10 p.m. PDT, there will
be a photo opportunity with Minister O’Connor, Minister Verner, Lt.-Gen.
Watt and Canadian Forces members.
Media wishing to attend the above opportunities should seek accreditation and
register with Mr. Ashley Haslett, no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, August 10. Mr.
Haslett can be reached at anytime on his mobile phone at 604-763-7472. After
having received media accreditation, and upon arrival at the Airshow, media should
report to the Media Chalet, on the infield of the Abbotsford International Airport.
