Fisher Fined $500 for Fishing Cod During a Closed Time

ST. JOHN'S, NL Brian Bishop of St. Mary's, NL was convicted on July 19, 2007 in St. John's Provincial Court of fishing for cod during a closed time.
Mr. Bishop was fined $500.00 and forfeited 13 cod fish, one spin cast rod, reel, line and lure to the Crown.
On June 2, 2007, while acting upon a complaint of illegal fishing, Brian Bishop was apprehended in the Holyrood Pond area by a joint patrol of Fishery Guardians from the Placentia Detachment and Provincial Inland Fisheries Enforcement Officers.
