On August 20 and 21, 2007, Prime Minister Stephen Harper will host the North
American Leaders’ Summit. The President of the United States, George W. Bush, and
the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, will join the Prime Minister in Montebello,
Quebec, for the third meeting of this kind.

Media Accreditation
Accreditation is open to representatives of bone fide news-gathering organizations and
freelance media representatives on assignment for recognized news organizations. A
letter of assignment is required for all media representatives wishing to be accredited
for the North American Leaders’ Summit.
All media representatives seeking accreditation to the Summit must complete a Media
Accreditation Form (http://www.international.gc.ca/montebello2007/form.pdf ) and send
it with a passport-size photograph and the letter of assignment to the address indicated
below as soon as possible before August 13, 2007.
Late applications may result in delay or denial of accreditation to the Summit. Only
those persons whose applications are refused will be notified.
Summit credentials will be distributed upon presentation of appropriate identification at
9:00 a.m., August 17, from the Summit Accreditation Office in Whitton Hall on the
second floor of the Old Ottawa City Hall.

Accommodation
Media representatives are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements.
There is no accommodation available at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello.
Pooled Coverage
Access to the Montebello meeting site will be limited to a pool of accredited media
representatives, who will require a special access pass and must use the secure
transportation provided from 111 Sussex Drive in Ottawa to the Montebello Media
Centre. The press officials of each participating country will distribute access passes for
their national media representatives.
The Summit Management Office, with the assistance of the National Press Gallery, will
distribute access passes to a cross section of accredited Canadian and international
media representatives. Please consult with the Summit Accreditation Office for more

Ground Transportation
Transportation between Ottawa and Montebello will be provided for accredited media
representatives who will cover Summit activities on a pooled basis. Transportation will
also be provided between the Ottawa Media Centre and the airport for coverage of
arrivals and departures. A detailed transportation schedule for Montebello will be
provided at a later date. Broadcast services at Montebello will be provided by the

Media Facilities
The Ottawa Media Centre will be located in Victoria Hall, Bytown Pavilion, Old Ottawa
City Hall. It will open at 9:00 a.m. on August 17 and will provide work spaces,
telephones, Internet connections, and monitoring of the Montebello media events. It will
close at 11:59 p.m. on August 21.
A similarly equipped media centre will be located in Montebello for the use of the
Montebello pooled media representatives, using the Summit transportation provided.
Media Program
A detailed media program will be available at the Ottawa Media Centre at noon, August
17.
The Leaders and delegates are expected to arrive in Montebello during the afternoon of
August 20. Working sessions are scheduled to begin on August 20 and conclude on
August 21.

at both Summit Media Centres and at http://www.international.gc.ca under Media
Room.
