The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) invites the public to comment on the conclusions, recommendations and any other aspect of the Comprehensive Study Report prepared for the proposed upgrading of the Mitchell Well System Project, in Mitchell, Ontario.
Public comments received by August 31, 2007, will be considered. All documents received will be considered public and will become part of the public registry.

The Municipality of West Perth is proposing to upgrade the Mitchell Well System, located in the Town of Mitchell. The purpose of the project is to address capacity issues within the community for a 22-year planning period and bring the water supply system into compliance with the Ontario Drinking Water Systems Regulation. The project is proposed under the Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program.
In accordance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, Industry Canada, the responsible authority, has undertaken a Comprehensive Study of the project and has submitted its report to the Minister of the Environment and to the Agency.
Following the public comment period on the report, and upon review of the comments received, the Minister of the Environment will issue an environmental assessment decision statement.
