REAPPOINTMENT TO THE BUFFALO AND FORT ERIE PUBLIC BRIDGE AUTHORITY

OTTAWA — The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the reappointment of Mr. John Lopinski to the board of directors of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority for a period of one year.
"I am pleased to announce the reappointment of Mr. Lopinski to the board of directors of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority," said Minister Cannon. "His accounting experience and commitment to community service have been valuable assets to the authority since 1994."
Mr. Lopinski received his chartered accountant designation in 1968 and is a resident partner of Crawford Smith & Swallow Chartered Accountants LLP at the Port Colborne office. He is also a member of regional, provincial and national associations of chartered accountants. He currently serves his community in the Rotary Club of Port Colborne and the Knights of Columbus. He also serves as director for the City of Port Colborne Community Foundation and the Niagara Health System Foundation.
The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a bi-national bridge authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York. The authority has a 10-member board with an equal number of representatives from Canada and the United States.
