Camp Hill Hospital Celebrates 90 Years of Care to Veterans

Halifax - The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, joined staff and Veterans of Camp Hill Hospital today to celebrate the facility's 90th anniversary. Camp Hill has been providing care and services to Canada's war Veterans since 1917.
"Camp Hill Hospital has a long and proud tradition of providing exemplary care to the many men and women who have served our country," said Minister Thompson. "I am honoured to celebrate this milestone with the Veterans and staff of Camp Hill and I applaud your commitment to the quality care of our Veterans."
The original Camp Hill buildings have been replaced by the Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building (CHVMB) which is situated on the Camp Hill site. The CHVMB was constructed in 1987 and includes four 50-bed floors, providing a full spectrum of care. The CHVMB is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
CHVMB offers a wide variety of recreation and occupational therapy programs and other services such as pastoral care, psychology, and dental and foot care.
The largest and most recognized Veterans' facility in Atlantic Canada, CHVMB is managed by the Capital District Health Authority. The CHVMB currently provides care and services to 175 Veterans when operating at full capacity.
