Over three years, the $749,250 in funds will go to ACS projects aimed at promoting the study of Canada by young people, increasing awareness of Canadian themes and issues, and developing new knowledge and research on current trends and public policy related to learning about Canada.
"Canada's New Government is committed to helping Canadians gain a better understanding of their country, its history, stories, people, and systems of government," said Minister Verner. "Our government is proud to fund the ACS, a key partner for the advancement of Canadian studies."
"Canada's New Government actively supports the development of learning materials and activities that contribute to increasing Canadians' knowledge of their country," said Minister Fortier.

Canada's New Government has provided this funding through the Canadian Studies Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. Canadian Heritage funds the development of learning materials and activities that contribute to increasing all Canadians' knowledge about Canada.
