Auditor General's Office Named One of Canada's Top 100 Employers

Ottawa, 4 October 2007—The Office of the Auditor General of Canada has been selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2008. It was also named one of the National Capital Region's Top Employers for 2008.
“I am proud and delighted that the Office of the Auditor General of Canada has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers,” said Auditor General Sheila Fraser.
“I see this award as recognition of our success in putting our values into practice. We seek to provide a working environment in which all are treated with dignity and respect and encouraged to realize their full career potential. We also strive to be a model organization for the federal government.”
The Office of the Auditor General of Canada was awarded Top Employer status in a rigourous competition and selection process managed by Mediacorp Canada Inc. An extensive questionnaire solicited information about the Office's human resources policies and practices that was independently confirmed by the awards advisory board. The results of an employee survey were also taken into account.
Canada's Top 100 employers are being announced in this week's issue of Maclean's magazine. The National Capital Region's Top Employers will be featured in a special editorial supplement in the Ottawa Citizen in October. The Office will also be profiled in Canada's Top 100 Employers, an annual paperback guide to the best places to work.
“I want to congratulate every person in this organization for making the Office such a wonderful place to work,” Ms. Fraser remarked.
