The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) invites the public to comment on the conclusions, recommendations and any other aspect of the comprehensive study report prepared for the proposed Keltic Liquefied Natural Gas Project in Nova Scotia. Public comments received by November 14, 2007 will be considered and all comments received will become part of the public registry. Keltic Petrochemicals Inc. is proposing to construct and operate a marginal wharf, LNG marine terminal, transfer pipelines, LNG storage tanks and regasification facilities in Goldboro, Nova Scotia. LNG and feedstock materials will be shipped via the LNG marine terminal and marginal wharf.
In accordance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, the responsible authorities, Transport Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada, for this project have undertaken a comprehensive study of the project and have submitted their report to the Minister of the Environment and to the Agency. Following the public comment period on the report, and upon review of the comments received, the Minister of the Environment will issue an environmental assessment decision statement. The statement will be posted on the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry on the Agency’s Web site.
