The RCMP Wishes to Thank the Public for Its Ongoing Support

The RCMP would like to thank the public for the kind thoughts and words that have been sent to us on behalf of the family of Cst. Worden and our members. Hundreds of message have been received through our public web site and through condolence books set-up at detachments across the country. The past few days have been trying for our members in the NWT and across Canada, and these words of sympathy and support are very meaningful to us and reflect the strong relationships and commitments we have to the communities we serve.
Our Employees have access to a number of Employee Assistance Programs and our Chaplains continue to be actively engaged in providing support to the family and members.
Over the next few days, members across the country will be preparing to attend the Funeral of Cst. Worden. Members from "K" and "F" Division will be arriving in the NWT to provide support while members from Hay River, Yellowknife and other "G" Division Detachments travel to Ottawa for the Funeral. These relief members will also be providing much needed days off for members throughout the NWT. This relief plan will ensure consistent policing service to all communities in the NWT. The public may see new faces in their communities over the upcoming days and weeks, and these members will be here as part of the "G" Division plan to ensure there is no interruption in policing services in our communities.
