following diplomatic appointment:
Patrick Parisot becomes Ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Patrick Parisot (CGE, HEC Montreal, 1976; BSp Rel Hum [Psychosociology of
Communication], 1979; BA [Political Science], University of Quebec at Montreal, 1984;
CIJ [Information and Journalism], University of Montreal, 1987) became Press
Secretary to the Prime Minister in 1993 and Special Policy Adviser in 1999, a position
he held until 2001, when he was appointed Ambassador to Chile. Prior to entering
government, he worked as a journalist at Radio-Canada and Télévision
Quatre-Saisons. From 2003 to 2007, he served as Ambassador to Portugal. He and his
partner, Carmen Altamirano, have three children. Patrick Parisot succeeds Robert
Peck.
