Statement by the Honourable Jason Kenney, Secretary of State (Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity) on Christmas

News Release

Ottawa, December 24, 2007
I am pleased to offer my very best wishes as Christmas draws near.
Christmas is a time of incredible importance to Christians from every corner of the world who have come to Canada to help build our society.
I encourage Canadians to reflect on our good fortune to be living in a country that enjoys peace and stability and embraces the many cultures of the world. During this season of hope and joy, we are encouraged to act with compassion toward those less fortunate than ourselves.
I want to wish you and your family a peaceful and prayerful Christmastime, as we give thanks for the many gifts that we have and share our own gifts with others in our families and communities.
As Secretary of State (Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity), I extend warm wishes for a merry Christmas and a blessed and productive New Year.
