Ottawa, March 3, 2008
It was with great pleasure that I received the Report on the Government of Canada's Consultations on Linguistic Duality and Official Languages by Special Advisor Bernard Lord. This report gives an overview of the regional and online consultations and the wrap-up event announced in December, and makes recommendations for the next phase of the Action Plan for Official Languages.
These consultations are one of a number of information sources that will provide guidance in the development of the Government of Canada's new strategy for official languages. They demonstrate our Government's commitment to respect the Official Languages Act and our willingness to put in place measures that generate real results for all Canadians.
