St-Georges-de-Beauce, Quebec, April 22 2008 – Acting on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that the firm Komutel will receive $96,000 in repayable funding to carry out a commercialization strategy on the American market.
Komutel has developed multi-functional telecommunications software designed to ensure the efficient management of customer information. Intended mainly for telephone receptionists in security, health and emergency services, this user-friendly, high-performance product has already become the choice of a number of prestigious clients, boding well for the technology's promise and potential on Canadian and international markets.
"The Government of Canada is committed to supporting enterprises that, like Komutel, are investing in the commercialization of products that offer a net advantage over the competition. To that end, our last federal budget introduced a series of new measures designed to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises in their efforts. Moreover, based on our government's fiscal plan, Canadian businesses will benefit from the lowest general tax rate in the industrial world by the year 2012. We are proud to offer our support to this innovative company, whose project will result in the creation of one new job and call upon the services of numerous specialists to guide its sales on the American market," stated Minister Bernier.
To support its marketing efforts, Komutel also intends to take part in various trade fairs and other targeted events that will allow it to prospect for new customers.
"The Government of Canada helps SMEs take the concrete steps they need to increase their efficiency and become more competitive. The commercialization strategy that Komutel has adopted will put the firm in a better position to boost its sales and raise its revenues," Minister Bernier concluded.
