OTTAWA, April 16, 2008 - The public warning issued on April 9, 2008 has been updated to include additional information on product distribution. The affected products were also sold in Quebec.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Tend-R Cookin' Inc. are warning people with allergies to egg or milk proteins not to consume various Tend-R Cookin' Chicken products described below. The affected products contain egg and milk proteins which are not declared on the label.
The following products are affected by this alert:
These products have been distributed in Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg or milk proteins.
The manufacturer, Tend-R Cookin' Inc., St-John's, NL, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
