OTTAWA, May 16, 2008 - The Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of G. Grant Machum to the Board of Telefilm Canada.
"I am pleased that Mr. Machum has accepted this appointment," said Minister Verner. "His legal experience will be a valuable asset for Telefilm Canada."
Mr. Machum is a partner in the law firm of Stewart McKelvey. He specializes in employment law, alternative dispute resolution, human rights, and labour relations. Besides his numerous professional affiliations, Mr. Machum serves on the board of directors of several arts and education organizations, including the Atlantic Theatre Festival, the Halifax Adult Learning Society, and the Nova Scotia Art Gallery.
