OTTAWA, May 15, 2008 - The Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of André E. Audet as vice chair of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
"I am delighted to welcome Mr. Audet to the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Civilization," said Minister Verner. "I am convinced that his extensive experience in the financial sector will be of great benefit to the museum."
Mr. Audet is the co-founder and former president of Capital Capda Corporation and the co founder of the Brome Financial Corporation, both firms specializing in venture capital. He is currently a member of the investment committee of Novocap I and II and president of HLT Énergie. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Audet was chair of the Board of the Conseil de la Société historique de la Famille LeMoyne. In the field of arts and culture, he has served as vice-president and administrator of Montréal's Théâtre de Quat'Sous and chair of the Investment Committee of the Canada Council for the Arts. Mr. Audet has a master's degree in commerce from Université Laval and a bachelor's degree from the Université de Montréal.
