Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec, May 20, 2008 – Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière–Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced that the firm Technologies Talkdynamics Inc. has been awarded $175,000 in repayable funding to market its Instant Voice IV communications platform in the United States and Europe.
Based in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Technologies Talkdynamics is a young firm specializing in the development of communications systems for use by space mission control centres and public security departments, among others. The enterprise, whose staff force currently numbers 10 employees, expects to hire an additional three people between now and the end of the project and to create as many as 30 new jobs by the year 2010.
"This funding clearly illustrates Canada Economic Development's determination to support startup firms like Technologies Talkdynamics. With this assistance, we are helping to foster the success of this young enterprise in the international marketplace as well as to stimulate the creation of high-level jobs in the information and communications technology sector. These are the very same aims that were behind the improved fiscal measures we announced in last February's budget, which included a streamlining of the fiscal rules and regulations governing small businesses," explained Mr. Gourde.
The firm intends to use this government funding to develop Web content and promotional tools, hire a commercialization officer, finance its participation in trade fairs and prospect for new customers.
This contribution has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program, an initiative aimed at strengthening conditions conducive to the sustainable growth of Quebec's regions and small and medium-sized enterprises.
